🌿 How it Works + Tips
Good things take time: This is two kits in one. Your Oil Infusion kit will take 3 weeks to prepare before you can create your body butter. So we suggest you start that early.
Your body butter kit is designed to help you create a calming, silky-smooth moisturiser that melts beautifully into the skin. By blending rich, unrefined shea butter with your infused Chamomile & Calendula Avocado Oil Kit, you’ll create a deeply nourishing treatment that soothes, hydrates, and restores.
Ingredient Highlights:
- Calendula & Chamomile Infused Avocado Oil Kit (Takes 3 weeks to prepare) — A botanical infusion rich in soothing and conditioning compounds to support soft, comfortable skin.
- Organic Shea Butter (Unrefined) — Packed with vitamins A and E for intensive hydration and barrier support.
- Relax & Destress Essential Oil Blend — A gentle aromatherapy blend of citrus, lavender, cedarwood, geranium, and patchouli that promotes relaxation and balance.
- Vitamin E Oil — A natural antioxidant that helps preserve your butter’s freshness and adds extra skin conditioning benefits.
💡 Tip: The key to perfect body butter is temperature control — never heat above 50 °C to maintain a smooth, creamy texture.

❄️ Cooler Climate Recipe (Recommended)
This is our most nourishing version, and if you store your butter indoors or in an air-conditioned space during summer, it should remain beautifully usable. We recommend starting with this recipe, but if you live in a particularly hot or humid climate, try the warm-weather variation below.

- (65%) 65 g Shea Butter
- (33.5%) 33.5 g Calendula & Chamomile Infused Avocado Oil

🌤️ Warmer Climate Recipe

- (1%) 1 g Vitamin E Oil
- Optional, not supplied, but if you have any on hand: (1.5%) 1.5 g Beeswax or Cocoa Butter — for extra firmness in very warm or humid climates
🧂 Method
Please follow the Oil Infusion Instruction to prepare your Oil. It takes 3 weeks and must be done before starting your butter.
1) Clean & Sterilise
• Sanitise all equipment with isopropyl alcohol and let dry completely.
• Clean & Prepare your workspace with protective matting.
2) Measure Oils
• Measure Calendula & Chamomile Infused Avocado Oil using your digital scale.
3) Measure Butter
• Measure the Shea butter and add them to the oils in a microwave-safe / heat-safe container.
4) Warm Ingredients
⚠️ *Important: The base must NOT reach over 50°C.
Microwave Method:
- Place Microwave-safe pouring jug of Body Butter Ingredients into the microwave.
- Heat in 20 second bursts, until 80% of the Shea Butter is melted. The base must not get hotter than 50°C.
- Remove from the microwave and stir until the balance of the shea butter is melted. The warmth of the oils should be enough to melt the Shea Butter.
Heat Bath Method:
- Fill a cooking pot with enough water to reach halfway up the outside of your heat-resistant jug.
- Place the jug into the pot and apply low heat. (Boiling water is not necessary—gentle heat will melt the base evenly.)
- Continue to stir, heat until 80% of the Shea Butter is melted. The base must not reach above 50°C.
- Remove from heat and stir until the balance of the shea butter is melted.
⚠️ Safety: Use heat-protective gloves and never leave the melting process unattended. Keep children away from the stove.
5) Add Essential Oil & Vitamin E
• When the temperature falls below 40°C, add your essential oil and mix thoroughly.
• Add vitamin E oil and stir to combine.
6) Set or Whip
• Standard texture: Pour into jar and let it set completely. Stirring every 30 minutes until it hardens. (It should take a few hours).
• Whipped texture: Chill in the fridge for 10–15 min until semi-solid, then whip with a hand mixer until fluffy.
✨ Usage
- Daily moisturiser — Apply to dry areas such as elbows, knees, heels and hands.
- Night treatment — Massage generously before bed for deep overnight hydration.
- Post-shower — Use on damp skin to enhance absorption.
- Massage butter — Rich texture makes it perfect for a relaxing self-care massage.
💡 Tips & Troubleshooting
Tip: Store at room temperature, away from sunlight, below 24 °C, the butter will begin to melt above this temperature.
- Too soft or runny? Add 5–10 g more Shea Butter or 2–3 g of wax (for extra firmness). Remelt gently below 50 °C.
- Grainy texture? This can happen if the butter is overheated — still safe to use.
- No whisk available? Simply pour directly into the jar — only texture changes, not effectiveness.
- Whipped butter volume increase? Normal — it will settle slightly after a few days.
- Temperature reminder: Always keep melting temperatures below 50 °C to maintain silky consistency and prevent graininess.
